Introducing The Bluebell Room

For years, The Cottage has had just two rooms available for our guests – The Garden Room and The Wisteria Room.  However, in the latter half of 2017, we converted our third bedroom for the use of our guests – The Bluebell Room.

Decorated and furnished to the same high standard as our original two rooms, this double room has a private bathroom with a freestanding Victorian style bath and overlooks the garden and fields which surround The Cottage.

So, if you are looking for a comfortable night’s sleep on Egyptian cotton sheets, in a fantastic location near Oxford, Burford and the Cotswolds, then why not be one of the first to try out the new room.

Full details for The Bluebell Room can be found here.

New Year, new website

Wishing you all a Happy New Year! Also, a big thank you to everyone who has stayed with us at The Cottage over the last year.  We hope we get to see you all again soon.

We are delighted to start off 2018 with a new website, designed by Simon, the Accommodation Website Designer. We have taken the opportunity to bring the website up to date with a lot more information about The Cottage, the surrounding area and the many events which our guests visit whilst staying with us.

The website also works a lot better on mobile and tablet devices than our previous website – we hope you enjoy using it and we’d love to hear any feedback you may have.

The New Year also welcomes the launch of our third guest room at The Cottage – The Bluebell Room.

Thank you, finally, to all of the lovely comments that have been left in our guestbook and on TripAdvisor – especially regarding my homemade granola and clementine marmalade (with that extra special secret ingredient)!

Here’s to the year ahead!

Best wishes,

Meet the dogs

Archie watches the action

As many of our guests will know, the most important part of our family are the four dogs which keep both Andrew and I very busy.  Life at The Cottage wouldn’t be the same without Marler, Archie, Otto and Dylan though.

Dylan returns with a pick up

The photo at the top of the page is a very rare one indeed – they’re all sitting calmly and still all at the same time!

The two spaniels are currently enjoying a very successful shooting season covering shoots in the Savernake Forest and locally at Northmoor and Ducklington.  Both spaniels are highly thought of, working very hard and, of course, enjoying every minute of it.
